A surreal video taking Twitter by storm shows a crocodile fiercely leaping out of the water to attack a life-size cardboard cutout of a deer. With over 15 million views in just three days, the internet is divided: is this a clever stunt, or are we watching an AI-generated clip?
We put it to the test using our AI video detector, which employs a detailed frame-by-frame analysis. The result was on the edge: a 63% AI-generated score. This mid-range score is interesting. While the crocodile's movement has realistic weight and splash, our detector flagged inconsistencies in the water texture and the unnatural stability of the cardboard deer during the ‘impact’.
Note on detection: a score around 60% can sometimes occur with highly dynamic videos. When the crocodile is still in the water, there are fewer distinct frames for the AI to analyze, making detection more challenging than with a static scene.

Our AI detector assigns a 63% probability that this video is AI-generated, which means that the most of the video was AI-generated. The scores around 60-70% should not trick you! Checking the audio separately and looking at the detection report might help in such cases.
Modern AI video generators are exceptionally good at creating realistic animal movement and water. A mid-range score often points to a high-quality generation or a real video that has been significantly manipulated. Our video authenticity check looks for subtle digital artifacts that might not be obvious at first glance. Additionally, we use the frame-by-frame analysis for a better detection process. It means that if the video has static frames with no movements, it can get harder for a detector to spot the AI in the video.
In our AI video detection model, we use frame-by-frame analysis to examine consistency in physics, lighting, and texture details. We constantly feed our model with new datasets (it feeds much better than this croc), allowing it to get better in real time, side by side with generative AI tools.
For complex videos, don't rely on gut feeling. Use a dedicated AI video checker that analyzes the file data. Enter the isFake AI, choose the AI video detection tool, upload your video and press ‘Check’. In seconds you will get the confidence score that the clip is AI, frame-by-frame analysis and a comprehensive report on the detection result. You're welcome!
Absolutely. Our AI video detection tool is designed to analyze videos from any platform—Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, or your own files—to help you detect AI-generated video content.
